From Alexios, Spring 1222
To Georgios of Bologna, Alexios of the Schola Pythagoranis of Cambridge sends his affection and respect.
Sir, for some time now, I have been hinting to you of the work I have been undertaking. I have great pleasure in enclosing a copy of the fruits of this labour; my translation of a previously unknown work by Aristotle called Poetics.
Further, I have recently learned the spell "Leap of Homecoming" that we discussed some time ago. I would very much enjoy visiting with you occasionally and I wondered if you would be willing to send me an arcane connection to somewhere in Bologna that I might do so.
I have taken the liberty of dedicating this work to you, I trust this pleases you and demonstrates, more than words can, the respect and affection, I hold you in.
Enclosures: A bound and illuminated copy of Alexios's translation of and notes on Poetics is enclosed with the letter.
