The first impression of this lab is an intricate circle ward around the door and, upon further inspection, the other potential exits. Entering the lab ones attention is immediately drawn to a summoning circle traced in the floor (Lesser Focus) in brass but before long the sounds in the corners and shadows come to one's attention and it becomes clear that some of the cages and pens (Menagerie) are damaged and some of the animals have escaped (Infested). In addition it sounds as if something ... larger ... might be hiding (Lair). Fortunately it appears that the animals haven't got into the overhead store-cupboards (Extensive Stores) or the hypocaust (Magical Superior Heating).
