This codex is in two parts.  The first part, written in 1200, is a history of the
Republic of Genoa until that point.  The second part is a tractatus
bringing it up-to-date until 1220; including the beginnings of an
alliance with the Empire of Nicaea against their mutual enemies in the
Republic of Venice.
