There's a place I come to
where life is just a shadow
or maybe I'm the shadow
and the world is what is true

I cannot bear this feeling
that life can have no meaning
or that I've lost the meaning
you all have, the rest of you.

I can't see how you do it;
can't see what you all live for
this is not what I'm made for
Not like you, I'm not like you...

Forget your poisoned chalice
I will not turn to darkness
the sweet bewitching darkness
with its honey-coated lies

But no hero I, nor magus
no warrior of the light
so bright it burns, the light
and I am shadow's child.

And then, why would you offer?
what need have you for no-one?
since no-one has no value
and no value means no cost.

And this the world has taught me:
I will never do anything
I will never be anything
I am just another drone.
