Dear Yulegoat (or other ruminant), [This greeting is now traditional, I've used it since at least 2009] I'd like to apologise that this letter is very late; this year has beenOB very disrupted by medical concerns and I've not had as many spoons as might be expected. Once again I'd note that you may well have written for me in Yuletide before (in which case thanks a lot for doing so!), but three years ago I changed the name on my AO3 account and now I'm Larilille. In previous years I was known as Senji. I've continued, since then, exploring myself; and I'd appreciate seeing characters I can identify with in one way or another. I'm a polyamorous pansexual trans-feminine non-binary pixie gamer filker geek with ADHD, so that's a lot of stuff to identify with! I have no major overarching DNWs but there are a couple in the requests themselves. Likewise I'm not adverse to something that's not a traditional story -- if your fannish inclinations lead you to Interactive Fiction or a CYOA story, or whatever, then feel free! One additional note, since I've enjoyed crossover and AU fics in the past, is that I do not want crossover with anything written by JK Rowling. Sing For Me - Jaymie Wagner Characters: Leah, Amy, Amélie (or should that be Amy, Leah, Amélie?) I love Jaymie's writing and I love her three good pups. I would be totally happy with PWP here; or a story centring any or all of the three. Amy being badass and carving out space for the pack; Leah pushing buttons and boundaries to get what she wants; or Amélie bringing her wisdom to solve problems. It's all good. I want more of them! Mini-Challenges: Three Turtle Doves: Canonical OT3 here, so totally valid for this! Queering the Tide: Also it's a canonical lesbian pairing TransTide: None of the three headline characters are canonically trans, and I don't think being a trans woman would work with Amy or Amélie's backstories, but a trans Leah could be interesting to consider. Alternatively a careful exploration of gender on the part of one or more of the characters post-canon could also be interesting. Seven Devils Series - Elizabeth May & Laura Lam Characters: Eris, Clo I'm not really sure what to say here; I bought this on the basis of Elizabeth's promotion of it on twitter and I loved reading it, but even after having another readthrough (and reading Seven Mercies) I can't actually express *what* I loved about it. But one thing I really did love was the tension between Eris and Clo; and more of that would be lovely, wherever it takes you! Mini-Challenges: I'm not sure any of the three Mini Challenges apply here, but if you think you can make one work within the canonical characterization go right ahead. Micah Grey Series - Laura Lam Micah may be from Laura Lam's backlist but they're my big find of this year. At the point of writing this I've only read Pantomine, but I've loved every single bit of it, but particularly the exploration of gender and what it means for Micah to be a man or a woman, both or neither. I do now have the other two books and will have read them by Christmas. I'd love to see more of Micah and Aenea, with their relationship at once full of hope and promise and yet founded on limited understanding and a lie of omission. Mini-Challenges: TransTide: difficult to see how to fit this in here, unless you make Aenea trans. There are probably enough themes of gender here already though. Queering the Tide: This pairing is inherently queer! Three Turtle Doves: Adding a third to this pairing could be very easy. Cyteen Series - C. J. Cherryh Character: Sam Whitely I was going to start this off by saying that Sam Whitely is in some ways the token "normal" person in Reseune, but I got barely halfway through that sentence before deciding that he isn't. It's only because we're seeing him in a context full of Political Psych that he doesn't look like a genius. He almost certainly doesn't think he is. But he's the only one who can make Ari II relax, his architectural skills are sufficiently respectable that he managed to persuade people other than Ari to let him build Alpha Wing, and he appears to have an absolute eye for design. Whilst he's a minor character I think we see quite a bit of his personality and skills. He's in many ways another outsider in Ari's coterie, and in the Reseune Lab environment. What I'd like is something that either puts a spotlight on Sam, or that uses Sam to be a spotlight on the rest of the books. Sam has a canonical pairing, but there's lots of room for before, after, as-well, affairs, or many other kinds of things, if you want. Mini-Challenges: I'm not sure any of the three Mini Challenges apply here, but if you think you can make one work within the canonical characterization go right ahead.
