Please place requests for books here, with subject, minimum stats, what year you're initially placing the request, and whether you want one book or as many as possible.

Note: Claudine mostly exchanges non-Hermetic books; people tend to be more paranoid about books on magic; but she will probably be able to find leads on magic books.

Hermetic Requests:

  • Summa on Herbam with a higher level than 9, 1217, one, Tanis
  • Summa on Intellego with a higher level than 7, 1217, one, Tanis
    • It is likely that there are many books on Intellego available to the members of house Guernicus. There are powerful Guernicii at Blackthorn and Circulus Ruber. Alternatively you could ask Astrolabe to write one.
  • Lab Text for the spell The Ambulatory Laboratory (Covenants p122), 1221, one, Alexios
    • There is definitely a copy of this at Durenmar
  • Lab Texts for as many of the spells in the section Magic that Aids Librarians on p99-101 of Covenants as possible, 1218, one, Alexios
    • I believe all these lab texts can be found in the library at Ungulus. Sadly…
  • Summa on Rego with a higher level than 18, 1217, one, Alexios
    • Very few books of this depth are known on any of the Arts; you might have to try the Library of Durenmar. There is no recognised Branch of Rego
  • Summa on Terram with a higher level than 14, 1217, one, Alexios
    • The Tribunal of Normandy is known to possess a copy of the Branch of Terram, De Lapii , which is in their communal library. It is likely that obtaining a copy of this book would require a motion at Tribunal
  • Summa on Magic Theory with a higher level than 7, 1223, one, Alexios
    • If there is a book on Magic Theory at this depth circulating in the order then I'm sure I would have heard of it before.
  • Summa on Creo with a higher level than 12 (15, ideally), 1217, one, Angelo
  • Tractatus on Creo with quality at least 10, 1217, many, Angelo
  • Summa on Auram with quality at least 15, 1224, one, Alexios
    • The best Auram book I know of is Quality 12; and is also in the library of the Normandy Tribunal
  • Summa on Intellego, level greater than 11, or tractati on Intellego. Autumn 1231.
    • Johannes and Verena have written a number of Correspondances; are these sufficient?

Non-Hermetic Requests:

  • Summa on Faerie Lore with a higher quality than 5, 1219, one, Tanis
    • I don't know of any summae of Faerie Lore better than Legends of Brittany. Alexios might be able to advise about books available in the Imperium Romaniae.
  • Summa on Finesse with a higher level than 4, 1219, one, Alexios
    • The Records of Magnantrum place a book matching this description in the library there; but there is no record of the disposition when that covenant ended.
  • Summa on Arabic with a higher level than 2, 1222, one, Alexios
    • The nearest best source for this is probably the Iberian Tribunal. I can probably arrange a trip there in 1225

  • Summa on Aramaic with a higher level than 2, 1222, one, Alexios
    • My enquiries lead me to believe that this would be a very esoteric book in Western Europe; however that Aramaic is used as a liturgical language in parts of the old Eastern Roman Empire. I don't know if that would be suitable for you research needs.

  • Summa on Order of Hermes Lore with a higher level than 4, 1220, one, Angelo
    • The Red Book of Cloyne at Leth Moga might be suitable, but only Redcaps have been permitted to read it since the Schism War, and I have not personally enquired
    • Leth Moga confirm that they would be willing for you and your apprentice to study the Red Book in their library
  • Summa on Code of Hermes with a higher level than 4, 1220, one Angelo
    • I have acquired an old tome dating from the early days of the order which I think will satisfy this -- 1224
  • Summa on Profession: Merchant with a higher level than 3, 1222, one, Robert (if Robert's allowed to make requests; I assume he is once he's on the junior council).
